For my final project, I decided to make an advertisement for Peloton. My advertisement will consist of a photoshop advertisement poster and a video advertisement with a soundtrack using Adobe Premiere Rush and Audition. On Peloton bikes, riders have the option of taking scenic rides all throughout the world. I decided I am going to use travel photos I have and film a video locally to simulate what a Peloton bike ride is like. Beginning on May 1, I am going to start looking through old travel photos that I can use to photoshop onto an image of a Peloton bike to make it appear that you can take simulated rides through those areas. By mid-week, my goal is to have a soundtrack that I can apply to the video. On Friday, May 8, my goal is to film a video on my bike, riding through a local park, to simulate a Peloton bike ride. I used a GoPro camera to film this. On Saturday, May 9, I want to begin to put the images and sound together in Adobe Premiere Rush to create the advertisement. By Sunday, May 10, I want to submit my final project.
I found nine travel photos that I was able to use to photoshop onto an image of a Peloton bike. I used Adobe Photoshop on all of the images seen in the video. I also created a separate Peloton advertisement image that displayed all of the travel images on one screen to show the options that are available with Peloton bikes. I used photoshop for this as well. To create the soundtrack, I took two sounds that came on my laptop and recorded the end of a Peloton ad so I could have a “slogan” to go along with my video. I used Adobe Audition to mash-up the clips so the work could be my own. To create the advertisement, I used Adobe Premiere Rush. I found that this was pretty straight forward based on the last video assignment. I uploaded all of the images and the soundtrack and edited the video including transitions and text. I also tried something new by putting a video on an image to demonstrate what a scenic ride looks like on a Peloton.
The production plan worked well to keep me on track, other than some minor changes due to weather. My goal was to have the video done within one week instead of the two weeks provided. I think this project was able to capture the skills I learned in this class using these tools and putting them all together. Although I am an Accounting major, I believe learning this software was very useful and interesting. I enjoyed how it allowed me to explore different fields and forced me to use more creativity than I am used to. Overall, I was pretty intimidated by this final project because I was not sure I would be able to implement three different software packages to create one project, but I feel pretty accomplished having completed this assignment.
