Deepfakes consist of making things that did not actually happen appear realistic. They can have very negative consequences to people and events if they cause something to seem accurate when, in fact, it is far from reality. However, having legislation that works to prevent it can also take away freedom because it limits people. Overall, I think there is a lot to be said about this topic because although limiting it can take away freedom, the actions of this can ruin other people and make them seem like something they are not. I think there has to be some limitation on what is allowed because it is not fair to singlehandedly take someone down because of a misrepresentation.
